I recommend to take the scenic River Road drive that starts in New Braunfels then all the way to Canyon Lake. Canyon Lake is popular for Biking/hiking trails/sailing. There is a really nice Marina, watch the sunset on the lake while sipping margaitas! Tubing on the Guadalupe river should be also on your bucket list. It's definitely a longer float then the Comal River and you will immerse in the beautiful Hill Country scenery. There are lots of rafting,kayaking, tubing rental places in this area.
