The Freetown Christiania was originally an army base but in the 60's when it stod abandoned slumstormers occupied the grounds and established a Freetown community. It has ever since been subject for political and public debate but still stands today. Christiania is probably most known for it's Marketplace where you can by hash and mariuhana even though it's NOT legal to sell, buy, use or posses the substances in Denmark. You can also get guided tours by volunteers that live in the Freetown and discover an unknown part of Copenhagen.
