The cottage is located near Reykjavik, about 30-40 minute drive from Reykjavik. It is ideally situated amongst Iceland's most popular attractions. The location is exceptional, located hillside in a beautiful nature reserve, still very close to the downtown Reykjavik, 20 min drive. In winter Dec-March 4x4 car is essential in Iceland. No public transport. Enjoy the hot tube in the evening and watch for the Northern Lights, then rest inside and amid wood paneling that extends to the vaulted ceilings, and look out forest-wards from the deck. The views are spectacular, of the lake and its surrounding mountain scape; it is a place of pure tranquility. It has 3 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and sitting room. It has a large double bedroom, and small double bedroom and a room with a bunk bed. It is well known and often listed as one of the most scenic and lovely summer cottages in Iceland.
